What We Do

At Beccarian Correctional Care, we believe in a whole-person approach to recovery that addresses the physical, mental, and social needs of each individual.

Our therapeutic living units (TLUs) are designed to provide a structured, supportive environment that promotes personal growth and successful reintegration into the community.

Working collaboratively with peers, members in TLUs receive intensive, individualized treatment guided by highly structured case management.

The TLU approach is focused on addressing the social determinants of health, also known as conditions of daily living.

Social determinants of health encompass the conditions in which individuals are born, grow, live, work, and age. These factors, such as socioeconomic status, education, and social support, profoundly influence health outcomes, including substance use disorders.

The lack of access to essential social determinants can significantly impact individuals grappling with substance use disorders.

Evidence confirms the most effective means to reduce criminal recidivism is to provide treatment for substance use disorders. Providing intensive treatment for substance use disorders in incarcerated populations is an evolving best practice in correctional healthcare. Beccarian Correctional Care offers programing with a focus on intensity, duration and individualized care that is grounded in the most up to date research-based practices.
